R.I.P Jimmy Castor. Thank you for the incredible music Jimmy!. through us you live forever!

I feel like b-boy crews are a unique thing. They shouldn’t be like a club where you just pay your dues and get in, though those certainly exist. It’s not really like a sports team either. If you play a sport you’ll be on that team for a few years then you’ll quit or move on to a new team. The roster’s always changing. When you join a crew, it should be a lifetime committment. You’ll go through a lot together. You’ll travel countless hours together, sleep on each other’s floors, battle next to each other, train day in and day out…and that’s just the b-boying aspect. You’ll be there for each other when there’s a death in the family, when someone has a kid, during breakups, marraiges, family trouble, finanacial trouble. That’s what a family is. Misfit from my crew said it best when we were all at a cookout together; “I know we could stop dancing tomorrow and it wouldn’t change a thing. You guys would still be coming over for the next cookout.” He’s absolutely right. There comes a point in crew’s lifetime that b-boying becomes secondary. You won’t even talk about it most of the time that you’re together. Look at your crew. If the only thing you have in common is a shirt or medallion, you’re not family. If you can’t even name every member of your crew, you’re not a family. If the only time you see them is at jams, you’re not a family.

And this New Year, teaching a real workshop in five days!
Happy New Year!
Can a person really wake up every morning with an honest intention of hurting other human beings? What sort of reasoning can drive one to do such a thing? To grow a desire of targeting their fellow neighbours and use words of hate against them? You are unacceptable. Your colour, your culture, your accent, your style; it’s all wrong. The people you love, the things you do, the type of person you are; they don’t matter.
What faculty in the human psyché causes such behaviour? For someone to think that they are better than someone else? How can one forget that we are all the same? That we are all human?
I’ve forgotten many times in the past. It’s not difficult to hate. To hold grudges and seek vengeance. To feel as if the whole world is against me. It’s a straightforward path, unlike the winding path of love with all its forks and turns. But oddly enough, many of us can’t see that the path of hate leads to nowhere.
We can’t let anyone shut themselves off from the company they’ve been bestowed with. To be left alone to rot on this Earth in solitude; no one deserves such a lonely death. To truly experience the universe in all its brilliance, we must move past simply tolerating, and instead try to walk on the path of understanding and appreciating.
And to me this is life’s greatest challenge: to love and forgive both our friends and our enemies. To love unconditionally. To stop worrying about whether or not something is right or wrong, to go beyond what is good and evil, and simply act upon love. To see that our differences don’t destroy the world, but make it more colourful. To see that everything matters. Whether you wear your jacket inside out, or have four legs, or love a girl named Kate who loves a boy named Karl who loves a girl named Kim who loves a boy named Ken… everyone matters.
Hey I just noticed the MoS flyers, do you guys still put on any jams like that?
We don’t have anything planned right now. Also, I’m leaving California next week and won’t be back for a year, so future MoS Jams (if any) may not be as frequent as before (if at all). But keep on the look-out! My crew loves throwing jams for fun so who knows.
My crew’s trip to Japan a couple of summers ago! It gets quite raunchy so viewer discretion is advised for you younger and/or sensitive viewers.
An old video of my friend’s trip to Vietnam! Please note, the name XiilY is now out of date.
